I am a fully qualified, experienced and accredited counsellor and psychotherapist and a member of various counselling associations.

I work face to face from a private therapy room in Christchurch. I’m also fully trained to offer online therapy via Zoom from a private space. In addition to working in private practice I have also worked for local counselling charities. Find out more about therapy.

I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). This means I have officially met BACP’s higher standard requirements as a competent, ethical and independent practitioner. I work to their ethical framework and attend regular clinical supervision to promote and provide good practice in a safe environment, with clients' best interests at the centre of the work.

My way of working

I specialise in working with low mood and depression, worries and anxiety, intrusive thoughts and compulsive responses, trauma and neurodiversity differences.

I work alongside you towards your goals, in a way that integrates the various counselling approaches and tools I have learned to bring awareness, understanding, self-compassion and positive. Whilst exploring issues I integrate emotion regulation and distress tolerance CBT and DBT tools that can create a sense of empowerment, hope and support.

Psychological theories that influence my work include; Person-centred Theory, Polyvagal Theory (nervous system regulation), Internal Family Systems Theory (Inner child and parts-of-self exploration), CBT and DBT theory and skills, Compassion Focussed Therapy, Psychodynamic Theory, Attachment Theory and Trauma informed Therapy. I follow adapted CBT, DBT and pacing system theories when working with people who are exploring neurodiversity differences.
