Is therapy confidential?Yes. Your personal information is kept confidential from the moment you make contact and everything we discuss in our sessions together will be confidential except: - If, I become concerned that you or someone else are at risk of serious harm; I may need to talk with my supervisor and help you put in place support from outside organisations such as your GP. I would aim to explore this with you first and work together with you to best help support you. - If required by law; If I become concerned that you or someone else are involved in acts of terrorism, vulnerable adult issues or child protection issues or drug related money laundering, I am legally required to report this. - For the purposes of supervision; As part of my ethical code of practice I am required to engage in on-going clinical supervision with a trained colleague. This is to ensure I am working effectively. Supervision is confidential and anonymised.

What issues can you support?People come to counselling for a variety of issues, including; low mood and depression, fears and anxiety, grief and loss, self harm, suicidal thoughts, self esteem and self image, phobias, infertility, intrusive thoughts & compulsions, anger and frustration, stress, life transitions, relationships and parenting and neurodiversity differences. How much do therapy sessions cost?Sessions are for 50 minutes and are available Monday - Friday 9am to 7pm. The session fee is £60. More...

Do you offer a free initial call?Yes. I offer a free, no obligation telephone call where you can outline what's brought you to therapy and where I can answer any questions and explain how we might work together.

Do you offer concessions for trainee therapists?Yes, I am able to offer a concession for trainee therapists as they embark on their course required personal therapy. This can be explored together.

Do you offer discounts?I aim to offer affordable, accessible therapy. So if you are experiencing financial difficulty, I am able to offer an affordable fee to a proportion of clients. This can be explored together.

Do you work with children and young people?I currently only work with people aged 18 and over.

Do you offer couples therapy?I currently only offer individual therapy.

How many sessions will I have?I work with clients in an open ended way, ranging from around 6 sessions to longer term therapy. We can focus on what is important to you, moving at your own pace and completing therapy when you feel ready.

Where does therapy take place?For clients who would like to work face to face, I work from a confidential therapy room in West Christchurch. The therapy room is close to the Wessex Way (A338) and accessible by public transport from Bournemouth, Poole, West Hampshire and surrounding areas. Will there be a formal agreement in place?Yes. I provide a working agreement that outlines the framework of our work together. Once we have discussed and explored these terms, and you have clarified with me that you have read, understood and agree the terms explained, I will ask you to sign to show that you are willing to provide agreement of these terms and consent for therapy sessions to begin.
